Established in 1994, G.D.Goenka Public School, Vasant Kunj, was the brainchild of Shri Anjani Kumar Goenka. He aimed to immortalize the name of his mother Shrimati Gayatri Devi Goenka and hoped to provide the students a sound education unheard of in the NCR before. His innovative mission reached the pinnacle of success due to the detailed execution of plans by Shrimati Renu Goenka. Her finesse and sensitivity worked in unison with Shri Anjani Kumar Goenkas’ ambitious enterprise, to give the school its present standard.
Campus
Located on a 3.82 acres plot of land allotted by D.D.A. opposite Pockets 8 & 9 of Sector ‘B’, Vasant Kunj, the School has a unique V-shaped building comprising of 60 classrooms and 30 other rooms including a large Reception hall, Science Labs, Computer Labs, Art Studio, Library, Auditorium with the latest in stage lights and other equipment, Staff-rooms for teachers on each floor, a Cafeteria, a Fitness Centre with Hi-Fi Gym equipment, a Medical Centre with 6-beds and a qualified Doctor and Nurse in attendance all through the school hours and rooms for other Academic and Administrative staff, all air-conditioned and with specially designed furniture. There are adequate no. of bathrooms with sensory taps on each floor. Total covered area of the building including the basement is approx, 7000 sq.mts.
The building is surrounded by about 9700 sq. mts. of lush green playgrounds where facilities exist for all outdoor games like cricket, volleyball, basketball, soccer, etc. and a swimming pool with change rooms & showers separately for boys and girls.

Sports
At G. D. Goenka Public School, Sports training is imparted to the students in order to inculcate in them a feeling of sportsman spirit, team spirit, self discipline and a spirit of general well-being.
Every student participates in a Sports Activity of his/her choice. A well defined syllabus for each sport of their choice, enables them to pursue with interest, the game of their liking.
A competitive spirit coupled with self discipline and sound health, form the motto of our Sports Activities. Inter class, Inter house and Inter school competitions are organized on regular basis to inculcate a healthy competitive spirit. Sports events like athletics, gymnastics, volleyball, basketball, table tennis, taekwondo, gymnasium tactics, cricket and swimming form an integral part of the sports curriculum of the school.
Inter house championships help to generate camaraderie between students, a sense of competitiveness, brotherhood, discipline, positive attitude and very importantly, the fact that losing is as significant as winning.
Inter school events are powerful instruments of exposure for students at individual and team level in different stages.
Our school organized its first Invitational Gayatri Devi Memorial Basketball tournament in 2008. A popular sport, basketball aroused a lot of thrill, excitement and sportsman spirit among our participants.
Many Goenkan sports persons participate in championships on National and even International level, the exposure to which enables them to enhance their skills and confidence. Outstanding students get a chance by selection from these tournaments to represent ‘India’ in the National Team at an International Tournament.
The school is constantly committed to providing excellent opportunities and state-of-the-art infrastructure to our students and preparing them to make meaningful contributions in an increasing global society. A multipurpose court has recently been constructed with a basketball, tennis court and stage.
